Due to the unfortunate demise of Sushant Singh Rajput on 14 June, a lot of events took place in the last two months. While the Mumbai police was investigating the alleged suicide case, Sushant’s family approached the Bihar police and filed a complaint against his ex-girlfriend, Riya Chakraborty, accusing him of committing suicide, robbing money and harassing her family.
Petitioning the Bihar government to transfer the investigation of the case to the Central CBI to ensure a fair investigation, Riya filed a petition in the Supreme Court for the investigation to be transferred to the Mumbai Police. But in its decision today, the Supreme Court ruled under the chairmanship of Justice Hrishikesh Roy and ordered that the Bihar government can initiate a CBI inquiry into the case. The court also ordered the Mumbai Police to cooperate with the CBI in the case.
Sushant’s sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, who fought hard for a CBI probe into her brother’s death, also tweeted celebrating the judgement.
